I just love Monk, my new favorite show! I never watched it thoroughly before but thanks to the wonders of show streaming websites: aw yea!

So what's new? Well not much. Been down with the swine flu for about 8 days and have finally recovered. Gotten some nice sketching done while sick though since I missed a week of internship.

What's new with the little (huge) project The Voleria Chronicles?
It might look as though I only spit out doodles, sketches and/or finished pieces and nothing real graphic novelly like. However, this is how I work. I have NO sense of coordinating, organizing and structure. The idea was that we were suppoused to start with Era 1 and finish it before moving on to the next 3 but since we both (yes BOTH, not just me as usual - admit it miss writer! ) got carried away with the fun of the other Eras we both let loose and started forming it as a big WHOLE instead. Which I love. It's totally so much more comfortable! So that's the skinny of the process.

The problem I'm facing right now though is that I can't draw anything non-reptilian that I'm satisfied with. I already have problems with the over all anatomy of everything as it is but atleast with the reptilian and skryx it's more forgiving since they're not built like "humanoids".
So that's what I'm working on, very hard at the moment but it just looks so HURRRRRRRRR I don't want to share at and be accused of theft since it will look nothing like my finished pieces, haha!

posted a schedule in her journal over her process for creating her awesome world Asirion (go check it out!) and I'm just gonna be such a dodo and write down something similar since she's quite the inspiration!

<sub>Era 1 - Is relatively short, we don't have much material and don't want to overwork it. It's a basic more of a low type of fantasy setting. Light environments, gorgeous scenery and general happy serene feeling until the end. It's the start of the whole TVC mass story and introduces the lore, the gods, the myth and is the start of the thread that connects our entire work. We show off all the races and important cities, current disputes between the different cultures and the magic system. Era 1 ends with a big battle.

Era 2 - Starts about 20+ years after the end of Era 1. Era 2 is very dark, gothic, bleak and lots of dull colors and plenty of rain. Run down cities and broken spirits and looming darkness and trouble is the whole mood of this part of the story. Era 2 doesn't end in as much action as the previous, it ends on a sort of "we've had it." note.

Era 3 - Oh this is just my favorite part! It's also by far the biggest part in the story and as such it's divided into 2 parts. It's all very bright colors and contrasts, fire, magnificent spell effects and overall very METAAAAAAAL! Takes place about 5-10 years after Era 2 ends. Era 3 is where the high fantasy part really plays out, there's alot of elaborate fashion, crystals and such. Here we blend our traditional fantasy world with the culture of The Otherworld, home of the shape shifting morphers and the vicious Skryx. The morphers have more of a guerilla/rebellion look to their armor, crest and an attitude of a proud, elite military people which is a big contrast to the calm and collected Kaikulian culture of Voleria, even though they are of the same race. The Skryx are very occult but instead of wearing tons of tribal jewelry, tattoos, relics and things of that kind they are heavily armored in a special metal found in their dwellings. The Skryx are inspired by the aztec and mysticism. Era 3 is alot more gory than the previous due to the Skryx being introduced and their brutality, especially character's like Tzchaizet and The Seer will be responsible for most of it. The Seer is like the Dr. Mengele/Torquemada persona of our story. After a very specific and catastrophic event the story pauses and resumes a while after to head towards just a giant awesome cataclysm.

Era 4 - Actually we didn't see much past Era 3 a while ago until some of our random conversations on MSN spurred on what would happen after Era 3 ended. I picture Era 4 to be very cold. We will have alot of snowy scenery and mountain environments, with very cool colors of blue and greys running through most panels. There is of course alot of post apocalyptic madness in this part.</sub>
